THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE YOU SELL YOUR OLD iMAC

Regardless of their high price range, Macbooks have made an important place in today's youths' lives. Macbook has proven to be cheaper in the long run, easier to buy, and get the work done more effortlessly than a Windows PC.

Buying an iMac is an exciting experience. But once you are done with your current MacBook and want to buy a new one, the best thing to do is to sell your old iMac. Apple offers its own trade-in services, apart from all the third-party vendors, that can give you cash for your old laptop. Your desk space gets cleared up and you get extra money to buy a new MacBook.

Before you sell your old iMac, remember how it has a lot of your personal and professional data. Hence, to make sure the new owner doesn't misb use your data, make sure you have the following points in mind-

  • Create back up- Before you sell your old iMac, make sure your old data is secure. Create a backup of essential files and documents by storing them in iCloud.
  • Sign out of iTunes, iCloud, and iMessage- If you want to sell your old iMac, you will need to sign out of iTunes, iCloud, and iMessages.

To sign out of iTunes, go to iTunes and choose Account > Authorizations > Deauthorize This Computer.

To sign out of iCloud after having done your backup, choose the Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Sign Out.

And lastly, to sign out of iMessage, open the messages app and select iMessages. Then click on Sign Out.

After successfully signing out of all the iOs apps on your iMac, you are all ready to sell your old iMac.

  • Reset NVRAM- It is the same as pressing the format button. Resetting NVRAM will erase all the memory and data from your iMac and restore the basic security features.
  • Erase your Mac Drive and install macOS again.
